Phase 3 · Stakeholder revisit

Communications Plan

A communications plan turns the people on your project into actions. For each person: what do they need to hear, how often, how, and who looks after that. Five people now — five rows.

Tip: Don't give everyone the same treatment. Carol owns the budget — she needs regular face-to-face updates. Priya is hands-on — she wants short, frequent contact. Dave will dig his heels in if you over-communicate. Hannah is on maternity leave — short written updates until she's back. One size fits no-one.

A comms plan tells you who to contact, when, and how. Easy to skip, but the projects that go wrong are nearly always projects where people felt out of the loop.

Hannah is the test here. She's been on leave — what does she actually need from you?
