Phase 4 · Options & Recommendation

Options Appraisal

Score each option against five criteria (1 = poor, 5 = excellent). Be honest — don't just give everything the same score. The totals will guide your recommendation.

Option A
Off-the-shelf booking software (Appointedd)
Cost: £3,500/year Timeline: 2–4 weeks to implement Notes: Purpose-built for bookings. Limited customisation.
Option B
Bespoke system built by local developer
Cost: £10,000 one-off Timeline: 4–6 months Notes: Fully custom but expensive and slow to deliver.
Option C
Enhanced phone + diary system (do minimum)
Cost: £500 (training only) Timeline: Immediate Notes: No IT change. Doesn't fix the core problem.

Your guide through BA Hub
An options appraisal helps you compare solutions objectively. Score each option honestly — if Option C doesn't really solve the problem, it shouldn't get a 5 for "Solves the problem fully".

Use 1–5, where 1 is poor and 5 is excellent.
